Time To Let Go

Letting Go

There comes a moment in a man’s life
When he has to accept and let go, though
It may be difficult but he has too – it’s part
Of an over-all design, learn to let go otherwise
You’ll be living in a world of illusion or denial
And perhaps be a poet of no mean distinction
Living in a world of fantasy – a make believe
World woven in words beautiful to hear yet
Out of touch with reality – at times all words
Filled with sound and fury, or too much musicality
Enough to make one dance when there’s no reason
For him to dance.

Dearest one, now I admit I may be talking wild
And perhaps may not be clearly understood,
But it’s how I feel now, now that I’m more a poet,
For there’s fear and loneliness inside of me,
Some things I can’t accept, and I even dare to ask
My God why? – and perhaps that’s the reason
He has given us some more time, for us, you
And I, to have time to let go, and accept things
We cannot change even if in the meantime He made
A poet out of me – to live awhile in a world of illusion,
A make-believe world woven in words beautiful to hear,
Sometimes filled with all sound and fury, at times with
Musicality too to make one feel like dancing even
When there’s no reason dance – He made a poet out of me,
That I may have later a reason to let go when He takes you
Away from me.

One thing I know however, though a poet I may no longer be,
And I no longer live in a world of illusion and make believe,
Though there be no more musicality in the words that I utter,
And I no longer feel like dancing, even without music that I hear -
l LOVE YOU my dearest – that cannot be taken away from me,
And I need not be a poet to know it, and I hope I can still learn
To let go, and still feel this way.
